Guarantee of legal certainty. The lease agreements are in full compliance with the laws of the country where the lease is negotiated via Flatio. No matter whether you stay there for one or twelve months.
Online agreement in your language. The basis is an agreement concluded in the language of the place of the lease, but the agreement is always translated into English and the most frequently used languages. The agreement is always signed online, so you can conclude it wherever you are in the world.
Guarantee of a trustworthy presentation of the apartment. With Flatio, you may rest assured the apartment looks exactly as presented. And if, by any chance, the condition of the apartment does not match the description in the listing, we will refund your full rent and fees and give you 7 days of free hotel rooms.
Comfortable extension. Do you want to stay longer in the apartment? No problem. If the owner confirms the apartment is available for you, you will extend the agreement online. Similarly, an agreement may be terminated with a simple 30-day notice, once again, online.
All-inclusive price. The rent includes all services, including utilities and Wi-Fi, and it is not charged unless it exceeds 15 % of the rent. This saves you a lot of paperwork at the time of the apartment handover. If a property does not offer Wi-Fi, it is clearly indicated on the listing page.
Always 30 days ahead. Whether you move in at the beginning or half way through the month, the rent paid always covers the 30 days that follow. With Flatio, the “month" always starts with you moving in and you will never pay multiple rents at the same time.
Take photos of the apartment. We recommend that you take photos showing the current condition of the apartment on the first and the last day of the lease and send the pictures to us. The photos, along with a signed handover report, will be of great assistance when dealing with any unpleasant situations we hope will never occur.

This is hands down the best experience I've ever had renting a place from the owners. Beginning with my first message to Ursula to inquire about the rental, I knew this would be special. The flat itself is small but extremely well-designed and has everything one needs. But that's just the beginning. Ursula and Stefan are more than landlords, they are an extremely kind couple who take genuine interest in the welfare and happiness of their tenants and I now count them as friends.
The flat is located in the village of Murches, which is quiet and quaint and provides a serene home base. Cascais is a short bus or Uber ride away.
Neighborhood
Murches is very small and consists of a cafe (which is wonderful and inexpensive by US standards), a small grocery (with excellent produce and very friendly proprietors) a local bar and a hardware store. I've been here a month and never felt like I needed more because there are many large shops and supermarkets in Cascais.
There is a large park about a ten minute walk from the flat.
