SEA VIEW IN ATHENS

The house was nice on the surface but needed some serious renovations. For the lack of better words the place was disintegrating. With some simple renovations the place would have been excellent. The owner said he would fix the things that were lacking, though, so if they are fixed the place is excellent. The bedroom mattress and a bug problem were the main concerns for us among smaller issues. The area is lovely. When we first arrived we thought the area looks desolate but after a couple of days (and even the same evening) we found that no, there's plenty of life and restaurants and small shops even. There's a farmers market once a week which I definitely recommend going to. Super nice food and super nice people. There's a really nice beach just a short walk away as well which was awesome. Also the pictures don't do the place justice - The view was stunning. Gorgeous. I loved to watch the sea and mountains. Also the place itself looks more open and bigger and there's waaaaaay more light than in the pictures. The owner was really nice. My wife would have given 4/10 but I decided to give it a 5/10.

Neighborhood
The house is up on a steep hill. If you like exercise you'll love it - personally I found it super nice. If you're with a car please get your ass up once in a while because the hill is invigorating to walk/run up. There's a small shop for essentials right down the hill which is really nice. If you walk down a little more you'll find plenty of restaurants and other shops and kiosks etc. The people are all really nice. The whole area is very nice. The only annoying thing is if you're by foot that the dog owners (which there are plenty) for some reason don't train their dogs so there's a orchestra of annoying barking as you're walking along. I saw one trained dog that wouldn't completely lose his sh*t everytime we walked by. The rest were just barbarians. I understand they are guard dogs in gated houses but please, you can train them.
