For years, and stemming from the 4 corners of the world, friendships at La Grand’ Maison have followed the rhythm of conversations, music and art de vivre, giving the place its exceptional hue. We have opened the gate to our little gem of a place, its surrounding fields and river, foods, wines, promenades; all the treasures that History and Nature have given us; to offer unique moments to guests.<br /><br />A beautiful long bridle path lined with trees leads to the XVIth century Manor of Saint Victor and its surrounding hamlet. The medieval building and its old guard towers were completely renovated in the early 19th century and a wing “Viollet-Le-Duc like” was built on the Renaissance model. The medieval rigor disappeared…a may be architectural treason which gives our mornings the softness of a caress. All rooms on the ground floor open onto the park, the river or the pool. Our keyword is harmony! The manor has been restored with care… deeply comfortable rooms in warm reds, blues and pastels with antiques, soft fabrics, gilt portraits, book-lined walls. You can read by the fire, tinkle on the baby grand, and retire to bed in family souvenirs-filled rooms<br /><br />At the threshold of Berry and Poitou, the manor and its 5 outhouses sit on top of a wooden hill in a 30 acres estate overlooking the left bank of the river Anglin. 2 shared swimming pools are available, one for the guests of the Manor, the second one, overlooking the river, for the self-catering houses.
