My name is Tiago, and I have been welcoming guests to my properties since 2016. Although I am professionally trained as a geneticist and work in the field of medical diagnostics, my true passion has always been architecture and gardening. Casa Bali is the result of that passion — a deeply personal project that I designed and built largely with my own hands, through the careful renovation of a century-old Algarve farmhouse. Over time, I transformed it into the tropical retreat it is today, blending traditional local architecture with lush, exotic landscaping inspired by my travels.
The gardens are an essential part of the experience. The property includes an orchard with many fruit trees, creating a sense of abundance and connection to nature. The tropical inspiration behind both the house and gardens reflects my love for warm climates, organic shapes, and spaces that feel alive and restorative.
As a passionate traveller myself, I truly enjoy hosting like-minded guests who value authenticity, beauty, and meaningful stays. I speak fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, and French, which allows me to communicate easily with guests from many different backgrounds. Since 2016, I’ve hosted travellers, remote workers, and families from across Europe and beyond, and I understand what makes a stay smooth and comfortable — especially for longer visits.
I also provide a curated local guide with my favorite restaurants, hidden beaches, cafés, and authentic spots so you can experience the Algarve beyond the typical tourist routes. My goal is simple: to make sure you feel at home, inspired, and genuinely welcomed during your time at Casa Bali.
