Online agreement in your language. The basis is an agreement concluded in the language of the place of the lease, but the agreement is always translated into English and the most frequently used languages. The agreement is always signed online, so you can conclude it wherever you are in the world.
Guarantee of a trustworthy presentation of the apartment. With Flatio, you may rest assured the apartment looks exactly as presented. And if, by any chance, the condition of the apartment does not match the description in the listing, we will refund your full rent and fees and give you 7 days of free hotel rooms.
Comfortable extension. Do you want to stay longer in the apartment? No problem. If the owner confirms the apartment is available for you, you will extend the agreement online. Similarly, an agreement may be terminated with a simple 30-day notice, once again, online.
All-inclusive price. The rent includes all services, including utilities and Wi-Fi, and it is not charged unless it exceeds 15 % of the rent. This saves you a lot of paperwork at the time of the apartment handover. If a property does not offer Wi-Fi, it is clearly indicated on the listing page.
Always 30 days ahead. Whether you move in at the beginning or half way through the month, the rent paid always covers the 30 days that follow. With Flatio, the “month" always starts with you moving in and you will never pay multiple rents at the same time.
Take photos of the apartment. We recommend that you take photos showing the current condition of the apartment on the first and the last day of the lease and send the pictures to us. The photos, along with a signed handover report, will be of great assistance when dealing with any unpleasant situations we hope will never occur.

The apartment was beautifully designed and built to a high spec, with the exception that the walls are very thin - especially between the apartment and the internal corridor. This was particularly a problem because most of the other guests were only there for short stays (a weekend or a week) and so it wasn't at all like living in a normal building with neighbours next-door, but more like living in a hotel apartment with thin walls. However, the host went to great lengths to ensure other guests were quiet, and it was great to have a professional host with 24-hour staff. I loved the huge window and great to have Netflix included. The shower was very good. Even with the long-stay discount it seemed quite pricey for Brno (closer to Berlin prices), but they have pretty much cornered the local market for well-designed apartments, although a splash of warm colour would have been nice.
Neighborhood
The area is slightly sketchy - a little druggy and on the edge of the more sketchy part of Brno - although also lots of families living there and it's also right at the edge of the city centre. Brno is a very safe city in general and the area seems to be rapidly gentrifying. I loved that I could walk everywhere in the centre, it's a five-minute walk from the main train station and there are great transport links running all night. I mostly felt perfectly safe being there on my own.

The House of Arts contemporary art gallery is a five-minute walk and worth a visit; slightly further away, the House of the Lords of Kunštát has a more interesting programme. The artisan bakery, William Thomas, also nearby does excellent croissants, and there are plenty of lovely cafes within a five-ten-minute walk. If you're interested in natural history, I wouldn't bother with the Moravian Museum, but take the no.1 tram from Malinovského náměstí to the Anthropos Pavilion, in a beautiful location next to the river at Pisárky.
